⁃ Ok, I've been having an extremely weird issue that started some time yesterday. I've been emailing the Mac Visionaries discussion list and try as they might, they just can't seem to help me. To make a very long story short, apparently, the right command and the key to the left of the number 1 are disabled or are just not working. I first discovered this when I couldn't copy and paste things in the usual way. I later found that I could use the left command just fine. Anyway, I went into keyboard help with VO and k and tried the nonfunctioning keys. When I hit them they said nothing and when I hit them in a combination, ex command shift a, it just said shift a. I really need help fixing this. I'm afraid it'll happen to other keys. Some have told me to call Apple and have them take a look at it but 1. I have personal data on here and would need to delete it and 2. now that my XP laptop's motherboard is shot, I won't have any other machine than the desktop in my parent's room to use if I send this one out. I've decided to purchase an external drive of some kind just to store my data and music. I've never done that with any system. So can I get a drive that's smaller than my main hard drive and can I just put the information on it instead of backing up the whole system? I didn't install many programs on it, so reinstalling Leopard shouldn't be a problem. The only thing is I know I'll have to go through alot of updates if I do.
Be sure that mouse keys isn't turned on or hadn't been turned on accidentally.
